Una cotta per una marca, due prodotti ed una recensione: Unmask e Rarefy di Naturallogic/A brand crush, two products and a review: Unmask and Rarefy by Naturallogic
Quando ti innamori di qualcuno irraggiungibile, è sempre così doloroso, si sa. Quando ho notato per la prima volta il brand statunitense Naturallogic nel 2017, volevo disperatamente provare i meravigliosi prodotti di Toni, infatti continuavo a guardare e riguardare gli ingredienti sul sito (si tratta di ingredienti totalmente naturali e per la maggior parte biologici, inoltre il brand è cruelty-free, non scontato per gli Stati Uniti), ne ero affascinata, ma i costi di spedizione verso l'Italia erano troppo elevati e io allora non me lo potevo permettere, quindi ho azzerato tutti i miei desideri nei confronti di Naturallogic finché…
Un giorno Naturallogic, in collaborazione con la fantastica Dallas di My Strange Days, ha organizzato un giveaway con in palio un premio stupendo che avrebbe permesso al vincitore di avere poi una buona conoscenza del brand: un tonico, una crema detergente, una maschera viso, un siero viso a base oleosa e una crema idratante per il viso. Beh, sono stata così fortunata da vincere questo meraviglioso gruzzolo, che ho ricevuto un anno fa e oggi sono qui per dirvi di più sulla maschera viso detossinante Unmask e sul siero a base oleosa Rarefy.
Nel frattempo le cose sono cambiate: Naturallogic è facile da trovare in Europa (il brand è approdato sul fantastico So Natural Beauty) e Toni ha portato a termine un rebranding di Naturallogic - ecco perché i prodotti che ho io hanno un packaging diverso - ha creato nuovi prodotti e vale davvero la pena di dargli un'occhiata, ecco qui il link al suo sito.
Iniziamo da Unmask, che definiei bizzarra dal punto di vista sensoriale:
Vista: è così nera, nero pece, che sono piuttosto certa del fatto che, se un umano potesse guardare un buco nero super massiccio, lo troverebbe piuttosto simile ad Unmask.
Tatto: la sensazione tattile che Unmask dà è ancora più inusuale: è un gel denso che ti sembra di non toccare mai davvero. Ha una consistenza viscosa, ma è invitante, piacevole da toccare. Non appena si apre il barattolo ci si sente costretti ad affondarci un dito dentro. Trovo sia meglio usare un pennello (io ne scelgo uno piatto a lingua di gatto) perché altrimenti si sprecherebbe del prodotto e sarebbe un peccato!
Olfatto: ha un odore molto dolce, quasi di marmellata o di gomma da masticare alla fragola. La cosa strana è che mi sembra quasi di sentirne il sapore quado la odoro dal barattolo o la applico sulle pelle: è dolce e zuccherino.
Focus sugli ingredienti principali:
il complesso naturale di AHA ottenuto da zucchero di canna, arancia, zucchero di acero, limone, mirtillo, cranberry esfolia delicatamente e coadiuva altri ingredienti dalle proprietà purificanti
(come) il carbone, la radice di bardana, l'olio di ricino e la *zeolite (funziona come un magnete e quindi attrae a sé ed intrappola le tossine con carica positiva che poi vengono eliminate sciacquando tutto) nell'aiutare la pelle a liberari delle impurità che si possono essere accumulate;
la niacinamide (o vitamina B3) aiuta a ripristinare la barriera naturale della pelle, riduce i rossori e l'iperpigmentazione (è anche provata clinicamente la sua efficacia sulla pelle acneica);
l'MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) dà alla pelle idratazione e la rende più soffice, inoltre la ripara;
l'idrolato di geranio purifica e regola la produzione di sebo;
l'olio di chiodo di garofano è un eccellente antiossidante, stimola la produzione di collagene e aiuta perciò a mantenere l'aspetto della pelle giovane e fresco, ha anche proprietà antisettiche e aiuta dunque altri ingredienti a lenire le infiammazioni.
Unmask è una maschera perfetta per un uso frequente o addirittura quotidiano (infatti Toni suggerisce di utilizzarla per quattro giorni di fila per un trattamento intensivo e quando l'ho fatto sono rimasta pienamente soddisfatta e la mia pelle non era affatto stressata). Il primo effetto visibile è senz'altro la morbidezza della pelle dopo averla usata. Quando l'ho utilizzata per quatto giorni ho notato anche una diminuzione del rossore (ciao, sono una pelle reattiva!). Si tratta senz'altro di una maschera diversa dalle altre e che nel vostro armadietto del bagno non potrà mancare!

Serve un buon tonico. E Naturallogic ne aveva uno: la Nutrient Mist era un prodotto eccezionale che racchiudeva in sé proprietà idratanti ed astringenti, aveva una fragranza naturale incredibilmente piacevole e faceva una bella differenza sulla pelle. Purtroppo Naturallogic ha smesso di produrla dopo il rebranding. Non dirò nient'altro perché è già abbastanza doloroso, ma, ecco, se la Nutrient Mist non è in questa recensione è solo per questo. Toni ha appena annunciato la prossima uscita di un nuovo prodotto, una essence che, promette, sarà addirittura meglio della Nutrient Mist!!!]

Dopo una buona maschera, dunque...
Serve un buon olio viso! Nel mio premio era incluso anche Rarefy, famoso prodotto del brand. Un olio viso dalla consistenza leggera che promette di calmare, purificare e rinforzare la pelle con la sua miscela di ingredienti preziosi:
olio di papaya, un olio super leggero che stimola la formazione di nuove cellule della pelle (e aiuta, dunque, a combattere l'iperpigmentazione)
olio di tamanu, un altro olio eccellente per la pelle mista e grassa, nutre e protegge la pelle dalle aggressioni esterne
oli di cranberry e lampone, che hanno eccellenti proprietà antiossidanti
macerato oleoso di calendula, tarassaco, bardana e centocchio in olio di semi di girasole (lasciato in macerazione sotto la luce del sole per ben 8 settimane!) lenisce e purifica la pelle
olio di canapa, ottimo antiossidante, rinforza la pelle con gli omega 3, 6, 9, ed inoltre aiuta a lenire la pelle infiammata e a proteggerla dai danni ambientali
olio essenziale di tanceto, estremamente lenitivo, aiuta a ridurre il rossore.
Inizialmente, devo ammetterlo, Rarefy è stato una sfida dal punto di vista sensoriale. Il suo odore mi ha sorpresa: mi ricorda una tintura madre o qualcosa del genere che ho dovuto bere da piccola (non è né il momento né il luogo per parlare della mia salute durante l'infanzia, ma dovevo prendere delle medicine e provammo anche fitofarmaci - alla fine, per inciso, uno di questi ha accelerato la mia guarigione), quindi non ero esattamente entusiasta di applicare Rarefy su viso e collo.
Il suo ipnotico (ed unico davvero) colore verde scuro, invece, mi invogliava ad aprire la bottiglietta di vetro marrone scuro e a guardare il contagocce che stillava velluto verde. Come sempre, quando qualcosa ti fa bene, alla fine mi sono abituata al suo odore e ho anche iniziato ad apprezzarlo. Rarefy ha una consistenza affascinante: è viscoso e liscio, scivola sulla pelle in un modo che ricorda un balsamo che si scioglie tra le mani, ma quando lo si massaggia sul viso, si assorbe rapidamente e lascia la pelle nutrita, ma non grassa.
L'ho tenuto con me da estate inoltrata fino all'inizio dell'autunno, è stato un perfetto compagno di routine serale. Aiuta senz'altro a gestire la pelle problematica perché la rende meno disuniforme. Amavo usarlo anche come trattamento extra dopo maschere viso un po' più forti (tipo quelle a base di argille), dal momento che riporta subito il nutrimento della pelle ad un buon livello e lenisce. L'ho anche usato come ingrediente (insieme all'acqua) per la preparazione di maschere vista la sua consistenza, descritta sopra: aiuta a rendere la texture della maschera più morbida e aggiunge proprietà nutrienti alla maschera.

When I first noticed US-made brand Naturallogic back in early 2017 I desperately wanted to try Toni's wonderful products, in fact I kept looking at the ingredients all over again (they're 100 % natural and most of them are organic too, plus the brand is cruelty-free) on her website, I was beguiled, but the shipping costs to Italy were too high and I couldn't afford it back then, so I i nixed all my desires towards Naturallogic until…
One day Naturallogic teamed up with the gorgous Dallas from My Strange Days to host a giveaway with an amazing prize that would allow the winner to have a great insight into the brand: a toner, a cleansing cream, a face mask, a face oil serum and a face moisturizer. Well I was so lucky to win this wonderful bundle one year ago and today I am here to tell you about the detox face mask Unmask and the oil serum Rarefy.
In the meantime, things have changed: Naturallogic is easy to get in Europe too (the brand landed on the gorgeous So Natural Beauty ) and Toni has rebranded Naturallogic - that's why the products I have have a different packaging - created new prodcuts and it's really worth to take a look at them, so here it's the link to her website.
Let's begin from Unmask, which is, in two words, sensorially bizarre:
Sight: it's so black, pitch black, that I am pretty that if a human being could look at a supermassive black hole s/he would find it extremely similar to Unmask.
Touch: the tactile sensation it gives is even more unusual: a thick gel that you feel you're never really touching. It feels slimy but it's appealing, it's pleasant to touch. As soon as you open the jar you feel compelled to dip one of your fingers in it. It's better to apply it with a brush (I use a flat one) because otherwise you would waste some and it would be a pity!
Olfaction: it has a very sweet scent, almost maralade-like or strawebbry-chewing-gum- like- The weird thing about it is that I almost feel I can taste it each time I smell it from the jar or once I have applied it to my face: it's sweet and sugary.
Unlike other detox masks, it does not contain clays or powders (except zeolite, which is anyway very different from other clays*) in fact it does not leave skin feeling tense or stripped of its natural oils: on the contrary, it's quite hydrating!
Focus on the core ingredients:
the natural AHA complex obtained from cane sugar, orange, maple sugar, lemon, bilberry, cranberry gently exfoliates and assists purging ingredients
(like) charcoal, burdock root, castor oil and *zeolite (it works as a magnet drawing positively charged toxins and keeping them, they get eliminated with rinsing) in helping skin to get rid of all impurities that may have accumulated;
Niacinamide (aka vitamin B3) helps skin restore its barrier, reduces redness and hyperpigmentation (also its effectiveness on acneic skin is clincally proven);
MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) gives skin hydration and makes it softer plus it's skin repairing;
Geranium hydrosol purifies and balances sebum production;
Clove oil is a great antioxidant, it stimulates collagen production and helps therefore to keep skin young-looking and fresh, it has antiseptic properties too so it helps other ingredients to soothe inflammation.
Unmask is the perfect face mask for frequent or even everyday use (in fact Toni suggests to use it four days is a row as an intesive treatment and when I did I was fully satisfied and my skin didn't look stressed at all). The first result one immediately notice is smooth skin after using it. When I used it for four days it also helped me make my skin less red (hello, reactive skin talking!). It's different from other masks and it's definetely the kind of mask you don't want your cabinet to lack!

And Naturallogic did have one: the Nutrient Mist was an outstanding product that encompassed both hydrating and astringent properties, had an incredibly pleasant natural scent and made a difference on skin. Unfortunately Naturallogic discontinued this product after the rebranding. I won't say anything else because it's already painful like this but, if the Nutrient Mist is not in this review, it's for this reason. Anyway, Toni has just revealed a new product coming soon, namely an essence that, she promises, will be even better than the Nutrient Mist!!!]

You need a face oil! In my giveaway prize there was also the very popular Rarefy. A face oil with a lightweight texture that promises to calm, clarify and strengthen skin with its powerful mix of precious ingredients:
Papaya oil, a super light oil that stimulates the formation of fresh new skin cells (hence helpig with hyperpigmentation)
Tamanu oil, another great oil for combo and oily skin, nourishes and protects skin from external factors
Cranberry and raspberry oils have stunning antioxidant properties
Calendula, Dandelion, Burdock Root and Chickweed infusion in sunflower oil (charged in the sun for 8 weeks!) soothes and clarifies skin
Hemp Seed oil, a great antioxidant, strengthens skin with omegas 3, 6, 9, plus it helps inflamed skin and protects it from environmental damage
Blue tansy essential oil is extremely soothing and helps therefore reduce redness.
At first, I must admit, Rarefy was quite challenging from a sensorial point of view. Its scent is caught me by surprise: it reminds me some herbal tincture or something like that I had to drink as a child (it's not the right moment or place to talk about my health as a child but I had to take medicaments and we tried herbal ones too - in the end, incidentally, one of them speeded up my recovery), so I wasn't exactly eager to apply it on my face and neck.
Its mesmerizing (and unique indeed) deep green color instead urged me to open the dark brown glass bottle and look at the dropper dripping green velvet. As usual, when something is good for you, in the end I have grown accustomed to its scent and even started to appreciate it. Rarefy has a charming texture: it's viscous and sleek and goes on skin so smoothly that it feels like when you melt a balm in your hands, but once you massage it, it gets quickly absorbed and leaves skin feeling nourished but not greasy.
It was my p.m. routine companion from late summer to the beginning of autumn and it was just perfect. It definetely helps with problem skin because it makes it less blotchy. I loved to use it after very strong masks (clay-based ones) because it immediately restores nourishment and soothes. I also used it as an ingredient (besides water) to prepare powder masks because of the above mentioned viscous texture: it helps make the texture of the mask smoother and adds nourishment to the mask.
